Meet the Staff

Connie Downey, Our New Director

Connie Downey began her teaching career in 1981 when she was living in New Orleans, Louisiana. She began teaching K3 students at Edgewater Baptist Church, and when her family moved back to Mobile in 1985, she joined our staff and began serving as our K3 Lead Teacher. In the mid-90’s, Connie became our Kindergarten Program Director and also our Assistant Director. She has now stepped into the Director’s shoes, and we feel very blessed to have her leading our staff. Connie and her husband Bruce have a son and daughter, and they have two grandchildren.

Some of our very best assets at the Child Development Center are our dedicated and experienced teachers and caregivers. We have approximately 45 on staff, 24 of which are full time, so your child can get the personal attention he or she needs. Each staff member is required to maintain in-service and continuing education training hours throughout the year, and our supervisory staff members are all CPR and First Aid certified.
